| All students are required to pay a
$75 registration fee. Students applying for an F-1 (student) visa will also
need to pay the $200 SEVIS fee, a $200 Tuition Deposit, and a $100 express
mailing fee. Upon arriving at the school, students should expect to pay
approximately $50 for textbooks and/or copy charges per session.
*The I-901 is the
US government-required fee which AFI pays on your behalf; this service is
free. We will provide you with a written receipt on a Form I-797 to show
the fee has been paid.
** What Is the DS-160 Form?
The new DS-160, Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application, is a fully integrated
online application form that will be used to collect the necessary application
information from persons seeking a nonimmigrant US Visa. The DS-160 form
will be submitted electronically to the Department of State via the Internet.
US Consulates will use the information entered on the DS-160 form to process
the visa application and, combined with a personal interview, to determine
an applicants eligibility for a nonimmigrant visa. All application
questions on the DS-160 form, except as specially provided, must be answered
in English (using English characters), and you must bring the DS-160 confirmation
page with you to the US Consulate (do not bring your entire DS-160 application).

Please note that after you have completed the DS-160,
you need to take these next steps:
Print and keep the DS-160 barcode page. (You will not
need to print the full application.)
Visit the U.S. Embassy or Consulate website where you
will apply for additional country-specific instructions. Before an interview,
nonimmigrant visa applicants, with few exceptions, need to:
Schedule an interview appointment; and
Pay the visa application processing fee. The United States Department of
State charges a "Nonimmigrant Visa application processing fees"
which for the F-1 visa, is $140.
