Our Philosophy

We believe that personal and academic growth will flourish in a setting which nurtures trust and respect. At A F International School of Languages Inc. we require all members of the school community to act with integrity and responsibility in every aspect of their lives. We also believe that the transmission of knowledge, the encouragement of curiosity, the development of rational thought, and the cultivation of responsible, honorable behavior are the great ends of education.

In considering the needs of an English language institute, we recognize that a school for international students should be unique, in its own philosophy, purposes, organization, and facilities. It should be able to recognize and deal with the challenges of living in a new culture, and to meet the needs of a population that is diverse in background, aspirations, developmental stages, and rates of growth. Our instructional program provides students with opportunities to develop basic English skills and to acquire the necessary knowledge to develop a positive self-image and to foster academic, social, and personal growth. We strive to provide a humanistic, student-centered approach to learning.

Our Institutional Goals

• to provide a quality Intensive English program by a dedicated staff to students from all over the world that they may achieve their educational goals;

• to recruit, develop and support a dedicated, competent and creative staff;
• to provide academic opportunities for each student to achieve success in communicative and literary comprehension in English;
• to provide resources to attract more students from around the world to study English and continue to provide services to ensure the viability of this institution;
• to provide adequate physical facilities, educational support technologies, curriculum management, and planning structures for teaching and learning;
• to strive to continue to improve student performance through student involvement in classroom activities.

Performance Goals For Our Students

• to have a positive experience with people of other cultures that will foster a world view of brotherhood;
• to develop a positive and realistic concept of self and others in our multicultural society;

• to increase their ability to communicate with people in the world.

Accreditation, Approvals and Memberships

	A F International is authorized by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to accept non-immigrant foreign students and issue I-20s using the SEVIS system.
	A F International is a member of the American Association of Intensive English Language Programs.
	A F International is fully approved to operate by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education of the State of California (BPPVE)
	A F International is a member of the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages.
	Both campuses of A F International School of Languages Inc. are approved as official Certified Test Administration Sites (CTAS), to deliver ETS's Internet-based TOEFL test and other internet-based tests on a monthly basis.
	A F International is a member of the California Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages.
	A F International is a member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators that promotes the exchange of students and scholars to and from the United States.
	A F International is a member of ECIS: European Council of International Schools.
